House Stark of Winterfell is a Great House of Westeros, ruling over the vast region known as the North and the Vale as Kings in the North from their seat in Winterfell. It is by far one of the oldest lines of Westeros nobility, claiming a line of descent stretching back over eight thousand years. The head of the house is the Lord of Winterfell. Before the Targaryen conquest, the leaders of House Stark ruled over the region as the Kings in the North.
Members:
Eddard Stark, commonly called "Ned", the head of the family, Lord Paramount of the North, Warden of the North, Lord of Winterfell, and Hand of the King. He is a dedicated husband and father, a loyal friend, and an honorable lord. He is the closest friend and adviser to the King of seven Kingdoms, Robert Baratheon. Sometimes he is too honest that can make him troubles.
Lady Catelyn Stark, his wife of House Tully. A beautiful and intelligent lady why takes care for her children even if it is bad for the kingdom.
Prince Robb Stark, their eldest son. Despite his young age, he commands great respect and is notable for never having lost a battle, earning himself the nickname "the Young Wolf" - after the sigil of his house.
Princess Sansa Stark, their oldest daughter. She initially starts off as a soppy, slightly petulant girl with a very naive idea of the world, but as time goes on and she and her family suffer one cruelty and betrayal after another, she becomes a more hardened and learned individual.
Princess Arya Stark, their youngest daughter. Arya rejects the notion that she must become a lady and marry for influence and power, instead she believes she can forge her own destiny. She is fascinated by warfare and training in the use of arms, and is bored by embroidery and other "lady-like" pursuits.
Prince Brandon "Bran" Stark, their second son. He is only called "Brandon" by his mother when he has done something wrong. He dreams of being a knight of the Kingsguard, and his favorite hobby is climbing the walls of Winterfell and using its old rooftops and passageways to get around.
Prince Rickon Stark, their youngest son. Hi is just six-years-old when everything is happening.
Jon Snow, called "the White Wolf". Is believed to be an Eddard's bastard. Volunteered to join the Night's Watch, and later elected as the new Lord Commander of the entire order. Because he was raised by Ned Stark at Winterfell, Jon has adopted a clear moral compass and a true sense of honor, which he tries his hardest to abide by even when he must make a difficult decision.
Interesting Facts:
The six children of Lord Eddard Stark adopted six orphaned direwolf cubs found in the Wolfswood.
